သူတို႔​ေျပာတာ ၾကားရ၊ က်ြန္​မ သားသမီး​ေတြ
အဂၤလိပ္​စကား က်ြမ္​းလိုက္​တာ၊ ကာဒစ္​​ေတာ့ က​ေဘာက္​တိက​ေဘာက္​ခ်ာ

သူတို႔နဲ႔ အျမင္​မတူတိုင္​း
သူတို႔ခ်င္​း ႏွစ္​သိမ္​့စကားက
Don't worry about mum, she's Kutdishတဲ့

အိမ္​ထဲမွာ က်ြန္​မဟာ
တိုင္​းျခားသူ​ေလလား

My children

I can hear them talking, my children
flutent English and broken Kurdish.

And whenever I disagree with them
they will comfort each other by saying:
Don't worry about mum, she' Kurdish.*

Will I be the foreigner in my own
